Pre-Matric Scholarship for SC Students (Classes 9 & 10)

Support to Scheduled Caste students in classes 9 and 10 to reduce drop-out, with a monthly scholarship and academic allowances.

Eligibility criteria

  • Belongs to category: SC
  • Currently a student
  • Age is between 12 and 17 years
  • Annual family income is ₹2.5 lakh or less

Note: For SC students in Class 9–10; family income ceiling ₹2.5 lakh. Companion pre-matric schemes exist for OBC and DNT students. Rates can vary by state.

Documents required

  • SC caste certificate
  • Income certificate (≤ ₹2.5 lakh)
  • Aadhaar
  • Previous-class mark sheet
  • Bank account & school bonafide

How to apply for Pre-Matric Scholarship for SC Students (Classes 9 & 10)

  1. 1Confirm you meet the eligibility criteria (use the eligibility checker below).
  2. 2Keep the required documents ready: SC caste certificate, Income certificate (≤ ₹2.5 lakh), Aadhaar, Previous-class mark sheet, Bank account & school bonafide.
  3. 3Apply on the official portal — https://scholarships.gov.in — or through the channel it specifies.
  4. 4Apply before the deadline (Annual window — typically closes around 31 Oct (verify on NSP)).
